This is a fascinating supposition and could very well be the real cause of Austen’s death - the arsenic anyway. I’m interested to read Ashford’s book and see who, exactly, she thinks killed her. I’m not terribly convinced at the moment it was murder instead of, say, accidental arsenic poisoning.
